    hello
    i would have 2 questions:
    1. should i buy liteon ltd 166s or liteon xj-hd166?
    what is difference exactly and which is better for ripping dvds?
    2. and is better to buy liteons ltd 166s/xj-hd166 or toshiba sdm1712 for ripping and reading dvds?

    get a toshiba 1712 dvdrom. do a google search for hijackers no limit speed website. sorry i'm at work and don't have the website addy. you can also do a google search for firmware page. it has all the firmware hacks for dvdroms and dvd burners. hijackers site is listed under TOSHIBA dvdroms.
    liteon dvdroms are also good. take a look at the firmware page for liteon dvdrom hacks. good luck
