    Hi!
just received a batch of 50 maxell dvd-r TY's and 50 Samsung DVD+R TY's... finally some good quality media... just wanted to know how can i trick my burner into burning them at X8? i have the lg-4081b which can do dvd+r @X8 and dvd-r@X4 - so i'm guessing that i can only do the dvd+r at X8 if at all... if anyone knows how to do this i'll be most grateful...

    Thanks,
    Tzvika

    p.s.
i have the latest firmware A104.
With all due respect... and there is respect...

What type of burner is lg-4081b?

I know that with the LiteOn drives you can use omnipatcher to patch your firmware and adjust the speed choices of any type of disc you want as long as you know the media code.

I dont think that this is the case with all drives though. you may want to check out cdfreaks.com. Ask around in their forums, if no one here can help you.

The last time I looked through Meritline the 8X TY media was cheaper than the 4X. Why would anyone want to "push" 4x?
