  1. Hi have a mpeg which is about 950mb and i want to compress the file size down to about 800mb so i can burn it on one disc as a vcd.
    Can some one help me? what program can i use.

    You're better off splitting it in two and authoring seperate CD's. The compressed file will likely look like crap, not to mention that it will be non-standard and may not even play on your DVD player.

    If you want to try it anyway, calculate your bitrate with the DVDR Help Bitrate Calculator (as XVCD) and plug the number into TMPGEnc.

    ...or you could try some 99 min CD-R if your burner supports it.
    As VCD has a fixed bit rate, the only parameter to play with to get different file sizes is time, menaing you have to cut parts to make it smaller. Lengthy intros and credits are the mayor candidates.
