  1. Hi all, I'm new to this and a little lost at how to do this the best way. That being change an SVCD to an VCD.

    Problem:
I have this SVCD movie in 2 bin/cue's, but my DVD player doesnt support SVCD so I need to turn it into VCD.

    Tools:
TMPGenc (latest) and I mave the MPEG2 codec and plugin
    Nero 6
    ISObuster
    vcdgear
    videoLan

So far what I did to the cd1 is I extracted the video from the .cue, that produced an MPEG2 (I believe), then I used TMPGenc to encode it. Then I did the burn a vcd option on nero. First CD worked.

But the 2nd CD, did the exact same thing step for step and TMPGenc keeps giving me the unsupported error when I try to load the extracted video from the disc 2 .cue, yet I could do disk 1 fine. Everything plays fine on VideoLan so I dunno what I'm doing wrong, is it that the file for disc 2 may be corrupt or something?

Help pls from all the experts out there 8)

    Thanks

...or try the VCD Header Trick (multiplex the SVCD mpg as a VCD (non standard) mpg) tat requires no reencoding that only results in loss of quality.

  4. Agreed, extract the mpeg from the iso/bin, do the header trick on it in TMPGEnc's mpeg tools, and burn as VCD. Just tell your burning program that it's non-standard. Nero will attempt to re-encode, just tell it to ignore and burn anyhow.
It will come out in SVCD quality, but your player will think it's a VCD.
