  1. Hi !
I'm trying to make an SVCD with simple still menu's and chapters.TSCV seemed easy enough (or so I thought). I can't seem to figure out what I'm doing wrong. When building the cue/bin I get
"scanning mpeg segment item "menu-0" for scanpoints...
unknown user data tag id 0x65 encountered
mpeg user scan data: one or more BCD fields out of range for 'forward_I_offset ': [00:05.1f]
mpeg user scan data: one or more BCD fields out of range for 'forward_I_offset ': [00:03.2f]
mpeg user scan data: one or more BCD fields out of range for 'backward_I_offset': [00:03.2a]
mpeg user scan data: one or more BCD fields out of range for 'forward_I_offset ': [00:01.3d]
mpeg user scan data: one or more BCD fields out of range for 'backward_I_offset': [00:05.1d]
scanning mpeg sequence item "sequence-1" for scanpoints...
unknown user data tag id 0x65 encountered
mpeg user scan data: one or more BCD fields out of range for 'forward_I_offset ': [00:04.4a]
mpeg user scan data: one or more BCD fields out of range for 'next_I_offset ': [00:00.1c]
mpeg user scan data: one or more BCD fields out of range for 'previous_I_offset': [00:00.1c]
mpeg user scan data: one or more BCD fields out of range for 'backward_I_offset': [00:01.2a]
mpeg user scan data: one or more BCD fields out of range for 'forward_I_offset ': [00:05.4a]
mpeg user scan data: one or more BCD fields out of range for 'next_I_offset ': [00:00.3e]
mpeg user scan data: one or more BCD fields out of range for 'previous_I_offset': [00:00.3e]
mpeg user scan data: one or more BCD fields out of range for 'backward_I_offset': [00:04.0a]
mpeg user scan data: from now on, scan information data errors will not be reported anymore---consider enabling the 'update scan offsets' option, if it is not enabled already!".
I've searched FAQ pages everywhere and I just can't figure it out.Can someone help me ?

  2. Have you tried burning the .bin yet? I don't have the software in front of me, but I KNOW I got the "BCD fields out of range" errors and the "mpeg user scan data" message when I made mine; when I write the disc it's perfect.

I don't recall, however, if I get the "unknown user data tag id" errors.

    Thanks though

  4. The user scan data packets aren't right in the mpeg file you are using.

After encoding your video, demux the video and audio into separate files and remux using bbMPEG and it's SVCD template.

bbMPEG seems to be the only program that can produce accurate svcd scan offsets. After this, TSCV/vcdimager shouldn't complain about scan offsets.

  5. Try using the latest VCDimager (version 0.7.11). That might help. How did you encode your mpeg file? What is your setting?

  6. Thanks man !
Bbmpeg really did the trick ! Now all I'm left with is a weird "unknown user data tag id 0x65 encountered" message that I don't understand. I tried burning it anyway but fireburner refuses. So I guess I need some more help. Anyone ?

  9. No, I haven't. Is there a demo available ?

  10. VCDImager has already told you what to do: ---consider enabling the 'update scan offsets' option

VCDImager can correct the scan offsets in the MPEG-2 file on the fly.

  12. Nope, not just yet !! Can anybody (vitualis ?) tell me why fireburner gives me a
    "Thread1: Error sending cue sheet
Thread1: INVALID FIELD IN PARAMETER LIST ($05/$26/$00)
Recording aborted due to error" message and TSCV gives me a
"unknown user data tag id 0x65 encountered" message ????
