  1. Please help me, ok here is the situation. I’m having trouble playing xvid movies encoded with ac3 audio, my pc crashes and reboots its self after opening one of these files. All other movie files work fine including xvid’s with mp3 audio, so I can narrow the problem down to just ac3 audio, right ?

    Here is my system:
P4 3 GHz, 1 gig ram, ati 9700pro all-in-wonder, creative SB live platinum

I’m using the digital out of the sound card to my Cambridge dtt2500 5.1 speakers (Dolby digital decoder built in)

For my codec’s installed on my pc I have ffdshow and ac3 filter

Any help would be greatly appreciated

    Thanks

Try using dvd player software, I don't thank Windows Media Player can play ac3 audio. Try a dvd player software. Like Power dvd

  5. Here's a guess, its the AC3Filter. Try uninstalling AC3Filter and downloading the latest Media Player Classic.

Latest MPC uses liba52, and it suppose to decode AC3.
