trouble playin an avi

i dl camstudio, and used it to make a video from watch a friends cam.
now i found the file, but nothin plays it.
not wmp, not even camstudio player.

i ran avi codec, and that does nothing.
i ran divxfix, and that sez that it isnt an avi file.

wmp sez it doesnt support it, the camstudio player, just sends "needs to shut down".

any clue on what to do with it?

TMPGEnc wont open it to re-encode it either

try gspot to tell you what codec it is.

You could try virtual dub to frameserve it to tmpgenc.

both were no go

It sez it is a avu file..but everything else sez it isnt valid avi file

I think you are out of luck. Either something went wrong with the capture or it is so proprietary that even its own software cant play it.
