  1. This VDR is based on Symphony board from Stream Machine.

You can see the specs on http://www.streammachine.com/products/products2210Frameset.html and click Video Disc Recorder

They have a .pdf file also with a photo (I opened the VDR and it was exactly the same).

  2. Did anyone manage to create an image with vcdimager that contains subtitles. I added my I-Author-muxed PS-file (with two audio streams and subtitles) to the image with vcdimager 0.7.7 and burned with Nero 5.5.2.3. FW/RW and audio streams are ok, but no subtitles. If I create the image with Nero, I get subtitles but FF/RW doesn't work.

In terms of the Nero menus not working on the software players, it DOES in fact have to do with Nero...

As someone recently posted (with a VCDXRIP'ed XML of a Nero image), Nero uses a still menu, but has it looped an infinite amount of times. This is obviously retarded and interferes with the correct operation of some hardware players and most software players (apparently).

The correct setting for a still menus/screen is for it to play once and then pause...

    Regards.

What would be more interesting IMHO is to find out what the difference between a menu created in 5.5.2.3 and 5.5.2.4 is. Many DVD Players menus created with 5.5.2.4 just don't work - i.e. they are not viewable, but there! As for Nero being retarded...well as I recall, you yourself said that a DVD Player is in the main function a DVD Player and anything extra it plays, should be seen as a bonus!

Is this just for (S)VCD? Because all my DVD menus are also on a continuous loop?

    I still :

    - Can not go to second page with remote control ("Next" key)
    - The menu is enlarged horizontally (go off screen) with background image or not.

I'm on SVCD , NTSC, with Pioneer 343.

    TXS.

I'm using a Pioneer 343 and have not been able to get beyond the first menu page on any VCDs or SVCDS created by Nero or WinOnCD. I know the menus are "correct" because they all work on software players.

If the "Next" "Previous" function works properly on other players, I think this should be listed in the compatibility information.
