  1. Hi all,

My DVD player supposedly plays mp3 CDs (at least, it is advertised so), but when I recorded one, it simply did not play.
Is there a special format I should be authoring it?

    Tks for your help,
    Pedro

  2. I'm not sure about the proper format, but I do know that some DVD players are very sensitive to disc colour. Exactly what kind of DVD player do you have? An apex?

You need to use an authoring program to make the tables of contents. You cannot just burn them to a disc. Roxio Easy CD Creator v 5 has one......

  4. Doesn't burning using "disc-at-once" make a table of contents??

  5. Okay, what type of cd are you using? cd-rw or cd-r? i ask this because i've seen that that's the most common problem and solution with people i've talked to recently around here. (especially my friend's parents)

  6. Mine is a brazilian DVD player. I used the same disc color as the ones I use for VCD/SVCDs, for which they work just fine.

  9. But can I place the mp3 files in folders? Or do they all have to be in the root directory?
Any limitations on the file names?
Do I need a table of content? how is the format?

  10. No need to author mp3 cd.

Make as DADA CD. put all your mp3 files. You can also create subfolders. Burn it. Don't forget to close the session. Done.

The good practice is use subfolders like

    album1
    song1
    song2
    album2
    song1
    song2
    album3
    song1
    song2

I have same problem, mine though (on Apex 500W) it can read only 8 files, and they play fine, but the disc has hundreds I wish WOULD play...

So I know it reads... I just need to close the disc next time?

the reason it won't play all your songs is you need to author the disc I believe as I mentioned above. The programs I spoke of create an .m3u playlist file that gives your player it's menu...........
