  1. Ok so Ive done a couple vcds now(cant do svcd, stupid dvd player where im at(brothers house) plays them like crap. Ive tried hundreds of settings, along with no audio, diff audio. diff burners. Diff programs. SVCDS just wont play right)

Anyways im using TSCV As pretty much everyone else. Most of my vcds come out fine with the only problems being either Menus too big(dunno why the mpgs for the menus were standard vcd size) Or subtitles in my content are cut short(due to a problem with the conversion of avi-mpg but its only when the the subs go from one extreme corner of the screen to the next)

After so many menus I feel there starting to get bland. Still images or movie menus Still kindof Suck. I want something that can be controlled better. Something where I can use arrow keys on remote to go through. Something like whats on a real DVD. I know its basically a programm that writtin but is there no software out there to simplify this even alittle bit? If not what language/tools do I need to code my own and Would they play if i burned them as a VCD/SVCD/XVCD whatnot??

VCD or SVCD does not support true dvd menus, like using the arrow keys to select in menus.

  4. u could pretend to make an interactive menu:
set up your menu so that the number pad acts like arrows. just look at the number pad and your keyboard and do the same thing. just remember that your remote control probably has 123 across the top.
you have to make a still for each thing that gets highlighted. the highlighted item should activate when default (play on many remote controls) is pressed. the only thing wrong with this system is that the movie/music will stop every time you move the cursor around.... well it's about as close as u can get to a dvd menu.

  5. As what Baldrick stated, S/VCDs do not support the cursors like a DVD.

If you are smart, you can author a VCD menu very similar to that of the original DVD, but you will have to forgoe selectable hotspots. Furthermore, if you want full authoring control, you will have to author the XML by hand and not with TSCV.

  6. Thanks for the info, guys. I was also wondering about using cursor keys and it's nice to know it's the format and not just me.

  7. Yeah I figure i could make it "look" somewhat like its interactive, but still would be tied to number pad.
