I need to convert my video files of several different format/codec into SVCD disc.
My question is, Is SVCD format, MPEG-1 or MPEG-2?
If I get a normal cheap MPEG-1 encoder, will i still able to shorten conversion time for SVCD MPEG creation? Or I really need to get a MPEG-2 encoder? Budget constrain.
Which is the cheaper MPEG-2 hardware encoder??
My Shinco DVD-2100 players does not support XSVCD/Mini-DVD, It only support DVD/VCD/SVCD/MP3, on standard or CD-R/RW media.

SVCD requires MPEG-2.
Before you buy an expensive hardware encoder, you may try the software encoders, that most of people here use.
