Hi all,
I have an ASUS MB A7N8X-Deluxe, it has 4 built-in USB ports;
I instaled Windowns XP SP1, which is supposed to instal support for USB 2.0, but the Movie Mill TV aplication, when capturing from the Pinnacle PCTV Deluxe USB device, says that my connection is 1.1 ...![]()
I suppose the problem lies on Windows instalation, cause when I install PCTV the instalation advises me that the unit is 2.0 and all I have is 1.1![]()
The MB came with an instalation CD that contains an install package to USB 2.0, I used it, although it says that for SP1 users it isn't necessary;
ANY GUESS ?
Thanks,
Zetti

Did you have SP1 installed before you installed the driver? I believe you have to have SP1 installed BEFORE you install the driver.
One other thought from doing a quick google: Also, ensure that the Bios setting supports USB 2.0-the A7N8X gives you the option to support USB 1.1, USB 2.0 or both. Check you've got yours set to both and you may just find your problem solved. -
Thanks BrainStorm, but my answer is YES to your both questions
So, I still have the issue
Thanks, Zetti -
I have this exact same board. You have to install the drivers in a special way. The below are the instructions that are located on the driver cd.
How to update VIA USB 2.0 Driver on Windows XP
Microsoft Windows Update lists all available updates on the Web.
You need download Windows XP Service Pack 1 because Microsoft
EHCI drivers are included.
1. Update Windows XP Service Pack 1.
2. Right-click "My Computer" icon from the desktop. Select "Properties"
item while the menu appears.
3. Select [Hardware] page and "Device Manager".
4. Double click on the "USB devices" node.
5. Select [Driver] page to update driver.
6. Press Next while the "Welecome to the Hardware update Wizard" window appears.
7. You can choose " Install from a list or Specific location" check box. Type or browse
the path {CD-ROM Drive}:\Drivers\USB2\WinXP_SP1 to the driver and then press "Next".
8. Windows will then find the device "VIA Rev5 or later USB Universal Host Controller".
Now you can press "Finish" to complete the installation. -
Thanks Cook, wonderful, fixed !
Thanks a lot again to all that replied
