  1. Hi,
Maybe somebody can help a frustrated person with the following problem:
I edit my DV material in Premiere 6.5 and export as an avi file.
I encode using tmpgenc latest version PAL format, 16:9, using CBR with max 7500 bitrate(I reduced from 8000). I encode the sound as mp2 at 384 bitrate.
All OK and result on the PC plays OK.
    Next come the authoring:
First I wanted to burn multiple small video-movies on one DVD using buttons but as I was having problems I switched to one-movie on one DVD, no buttons no fancy things. Just strait burn.
I have used impression DVD-SE 2.2 and latest patch, I have used TMPGDA latest version, I have tried Ulead DVD workshop 2 and I have tried Nerovision express. I have even tried WINDVD V5.2.
I am never able to burn a totally correct DVD. The playback in my Hifi installation stops at sometime and never at the same place for different tests.
I have even used a second burner from Sony, a very recent model.(510u I think).
My first device was a Pioneer A103.
The playback model is a pioneer 646 dvd player.
I am running on a 2.6GHz system with 1 GB RAM and over 200GB SCSI disk space.
I have defragmented the disks before authoring. The only files on teh harddisk (SCSI) are the m2v and mp2 (renamed to mpa for some test).
I have followed advice from Fora input to use ac3 converted from wav using ffmpeggui. All the same. I am desperately frustrated.
    I have used a pioneer DVD-R, Sony DVD-R, Impega-RW, Maxell-DVD-R as media.
    I run win2000 SP4.
I leave the system alone while authoring. I even disconnected the LAN to have no interference from anywhere.

The only thing I have not done yet is clear my OS and regenerate my win2000.
    Should I do this?
Anybody care to help a totally lost person?

    Many thanks
