Foulks!!
I'have a problem with copytoDVD wich i want to solve...
Although I can use other programmes. i'm not that fond on errors on my comp and always want to solve them...
I used a guide foun here in the guide section to setup en config copytoDVD.. the first time it worked fine...
But after that, when i start burning, copytodvd hangs after caching the files... and not only copytodvd, my whole computer hangs and freezes till reboot is the only option...
i have the latest version 2.4? and i'm wondering if anybody knows the trick for solving this... i searched the forum but didn't found anything satisfing

Maybe I am wrong but I think that 390Mhz is a little slow for such a work, anyway I did a little research for you :
1) Do you have the latest version of the concerned VSO product? Be sure by downloading from the <download.htm> page.
2) Do you have the latest firmware for your hardware (CD/DVD writer)? If you are not sure, check the information on this page:
<http://www.cdrinfo.com/Sections/Firmware/LatestFirmwareUpdates.asp>
3) Did you turn off any anti-virus and other burning applications which might access the CD/DVD units at the same time?
Note 1: A lot of users reported problems with NAV on some configurations. If you have MMC errors etc., please disable the anti-virus software during the writing process.
Note 2: A lot of users reported problems with VIA and nVidia low level drivers (i.e. IDE drivers). Sometimes Microsoft certified drivers work better, sometimes a new version of the drivers from VIA/nVidia can help. Please post your problems on the forums or contact us if you are unsure.
4) Did you check the surface of the media? It is a stupid, but widespread mistake. Check if the media to read and/or write is clean, scratch-less, not too transparent or damaged. The quality of the surface can greatly influence the overall backup process.
If nothing better comes out of it then post again!

You have mentioned in your post that the first time was everything ok, but the second time all freezes. Have you change something in the configuration of the second dvd ?
Have you try to burn the first dvd project one more time (at least in a dvd-rw) just to make sure that you are not having problems with the second dvd project?
BTW,another idea to help your computer to better deal with this thing is to defragment your hard drive before you start.-Try again ! Try harder !! .....The Crow (1994) -
heja!!
well okidoki, i've been working to solve the problem...
When the first burners for CD came out, the recommend indeed to exit background activities as much as possible... so everytime when i burn a DVD i shut all things down that are not of any matter... and deffinetly the virusscanner (i even shutdown my network an firewall)
I burnt a DVD today with plain old DVDencrypter. and had no probs with freezes...
I hade some probs with the latest Nero, so installed the first 6.0 vesion...
and to be honest, i got errors, not messages, but the system also freezes... you see everything is beeing collected for the burningproces, but then it hangs...
And that goes also for CopytoDVD. I checked your specs you gave me from the VSO site... well everthing is Aok. Firmware, is uptodate, virusscanners ar of and no other burn utilities are running in the background....
there;s however a thing that was, well, how will i say it... rather akward... meaning 'I use a certain file, to use the program longer then authorized' if you know what I mean, and that could be off influence on it?!....
But as we speak, i'm trying to work with DVD x Copy, and to my suprise, the first time I hade the same probelem... burning starts and windows freezes.. I'm gonna check there site for any info, maybe the breakthrough clue can be found there. but in the meanwhile, if you have any idea's why all the burning program's here are freezing, that would be great!!
thanX!
