  1. I was just browsing another forum and read a post that said his Pioneer DV-A03 died after reading an overburned CD. Another post said that it died after running SmartRipper.
    Does anybody have similar experiences?
I'll be buying a DVD burner really soon but if Pioneer indeed have those problems then maybe I'll just wait for the HP burner.

  2. I've had a Pioneer DV-A03 for a couple of months and never had a problem.

I have happily read some 99min CDs a friend of mind burned without problems.

I have also used Smartripper loads of times with no problems. I'd suggest the couple of people with problems just had faulty drives, it happens.

  3. had mine 2 months m8 , no probs with smartripper but i aint tried overburned cds

the reason that theyre drives burned out is that youre highly recommended to have the following setup

    ide 1 - primary - dvdr
ide 1 - secondary - dvdrom or cd rom
    ide 2 - primary - master hd
ide 2 - secondary - slave hd (if you have one)

dont know why but youre pioneer ao3 should be the primary ide1 drive
