  1. Okay, I've been to several forums and help sites and am still not able to obtain a solution to the following:

All my research indicates that my subject DVD player can play both DVD+R and DVD-R disks. The machine has no problem with the first format but does not play the latter. I get play the title page of a movie but then the player freezes and eventually I get a "Disk Error" message.

The disk, by the way, plays well on my computer using both Power DVD and Win DVD.

If the XMS 750 is supposedly compatible with both disk formats why am I having difficulties?

Has anyone else encountered similar problems?

    All comments/advise is appreciated.

    Regards,

    Rick

  3. Hello Magwa,

So far have tried 3 different brands and none have worked. Do not want to spend on any more until I find out for sure if my player can, or can not, play DVD-R disks.

Magwa? You liked Last of the Mohicans too?

    Cheers,
    RICK

I also found the XMS-750 was a bit flakey with DVD-Rs. It does not indicate that it supports DVD-Rs either on the box or in the manual. So I took it back and swapped it for an XMS-888. Bingo
