I have several MPEG2 files which are oversized for a normal CD so have have 90 min CDRs to burn to, when trying to burn with nero it rejects them saying invalid field in parameter and cannot complete Disk at once, do they need to be converted to MPEG 1 to make VCDs or is there another way, or are MPEG2 specifically SVCD/VCD or DVD. This is the first time I have had to try and use MPEG2 files so any help at all would be appreciated. I also believe from Nero that the standard for VCD is MPEG1 as it asks me to turn ff standard compliance and continue.

VCD is mpeg1, SVCD is mpeg2 and DVD can be mpeg1 or 2. That doesn't mean that all mpeg1's are VCD compliant, the resolution, bitrate and audio must conform to spec as well. The same goes for SVCD and DVD. Check your file with Avicodec to get the file info, if you post it we can tell you what your file is meant to be. Or you can look in the "what is" sections on the top left of this page.

Thats great, many thanks, they are SVCD and are slightly longer than normal size CDs so have got 90 min CDs to fit them on, have adjusted Nero so that overburning can be achieved, or is there a way in which nero can auto detect size of CD, because it stilll wont burn, error comes up as invalid parameter cannot perform disk at once, anyone know where there is an idiots guide to burning Mpeg2s using 90 min CDRs.
