I have burned a VCD using Nero 5.5.4 and tried it on the DVD player on my computer the player did not find the file it needed to start, but after some searching I found the right file and loaded it in to the DVD player and it played, I then proceded to load it into my stand alone DVD player and it said NO DISK, I checked the DVD docs and it says it plays VCD's. Now I was wondering why my computers DVD player does not autoplay the VCD and why my stand alone DVD says NO DISK.![]()

I had similar problems, then found out my player didn't read CD-R disks. When I burned my output to CD-RW, it did play, although my menu structure didn't appear at all (probably something I did wrong in Roxio).

Damn I'm pissed right now...
Anywho....it all depends on the media...I'm sure that these wounderful programs you guys are using are buring in the same exact VCD format.
I have a factory high-end Sony VCD test and demo disc that I aquired some years ago.
If I copy this CD...BIT-BY-BIT.. then some players it will work..while other will play without titles etc...
It all depends on the media....the closest I have come to true compatability is the Diamond color discs...
Which represent the almost true color of a factory stamped disc.

P.S. If anybody wants to donate server space and bandwidth...I'll make a image of this Sony disc and post it for everybody to get...that way..you have a true factory master that you can play with and modify

No CD-R looks more like a stamped CD than any other CD-R. "Colour" is irrelevant.

I think what he means is the Dye used in the discs. I have bought some CD-Rs that it was really hard to tell the difference between a regular CD and the CD-R. CD-Rs ARE different than one another to a degree. Some Dyes are more refelective than others and depending on certain players, CANNOT be read properly.

Actually, that's what I meant.
CD-Rs that look like real CDs to the eye work no better than any other type of CD-R -- especially in DVD players that are not designed to read CD-R/W media.
