  1. Is there a way to make a VCD auto play in a DVD. I have EZ CD Creator 5.0 Plat. and it makes no mention of it. Yes I am a newbie.

  2. You can make an x(S)VCD autostart on your PC, but not your stand alone DVD player (a few support this native, but they are few and far between).

  3. As what Vejita-sama said.

"Autoplay" is a function of the stand-alone player, not the disc. There is no provision to author a S/VCD so that it will start automatically on a stand-alone player.

All auto-start functionality in any instance is machine specific. Even the autorun.inf file you put on your CD just tells the operating system where the executable file is on the CD -- the autorun.inf just sits there idle if you disable autorun in the properties for that drive.

Again, auto-start is machine specific! There is nothing inherent in a compact disc or a digital versatile disc that makes auto-start possible.

  6. i wouldnt agree with that..
when you insert a dvd it will automatticly play the the dvd.
when you insert an audio cd it will auto play.
there are due to the volume type of the cd. ie dvd volume and cd audio volume.
what needs to be done is someone needs to setup a program where by when a cd with a specific directory structure is inserted it will automaticly load the player.. ie if there is a "mpegav" dir on a cd it will load a vcd player

  7. No.

Once again, there is NOTHING specific on the actual CD that will make it autorun. It completely depends on the hardware.

That is, there is no way to author a VCD that WILL autoplay on a particular machine and then author another VCD that WILL NOT autoplay on the same machine.

Whether a VCD or any CD type medium will autoplay depends on the hardware.

The ramifications of this is that there is no way of authoring a VCD that will make it autoplay on all players. If you have a player that autoplays VCDs, it will do so for ALL VCDs. If you have a player that does not autoplay VCDs, ditto.
