  1. Right guys i encoded over 30 - 40 divx/xvid into mpeg and it took like 1 hour and 50mins, Then my computer broken so i had to format now i just grabbed TMPGEnc and wen i go to encode it says 7 hours...wtf it uesed to take just under 2 hours any1 know wot the prob is??

  2. Make sure none of the filters are enabled, they are not all stored in the templates so can get left on and slow things down.

    Did exactly that myself just a couple of weeks ago. Did one encode with noise reduction enabled, then forgot it was on and wondered why my encodes were so slow!

  5. how do you turn off these filters you are referring to? i am doing an avi to dvd conversion using dvd2svcd and tmpgenc and the tmpgenc part is taking like 12 hours! what's up? any help appreciated

  7. You need to SAVE AS TEMPLATE. Then open that template and you'll always have those encoding settings.
    Also, don't bother to use MOTION ESTIMATION HIGH or MOTION ESTIMATION HIGHEST instead of MOTION ESTIMATION NORMAL in ADVANCED SETTINGS on TMPGenc. These settings take up gigantor amoutns of extra time and have less effect on the quality of the output MPEG-2 file than the color of my dog's fur.

  8. can you tell me how to change the motion estimation settings? i can't seem to find it even in the help section of TMPGEnc. thanks!

    They're under Settings->Advanced at the bottom
