  1. I was configuring MainConcept for something similar to KDVD, but when I tried to enter the KVCD matrix into MainConcept, it wouldn't accept some of the numbers...I changed all the ones I could and the output's looking pretty good. I accidentally encoded my backup 400kbps lower than I should have. But now I'm reencoding... MainConcept is way faster than TMPGEnc, which is a BIG plus. If anyone knows any tweaks or their optimal settings please let me know, in addition to the whole quantizer modificatoin problem. Even though I encoded 400kbps too low it looked damn near GREAT! MainConcept has improved a lot, I must say because I tried it a year or so back and it positively SUCKED!

You can save your settings and then open the settings file in notepad and edit the matrice numbers.

  4. Yah...making my own*.mef file doesn't work. I can't find where MainConcept saves it's custom profiles. I wonder if it's directly in the executeable or the registry. hmmmmmm

Any help appreciated, as well as any tried and true settings of gurus.

  5. There are a few .mef files under 'c\program files\MainConcept\MPEG Encoder.

    Don't know if this helps
