  1. I've got a couple computers, actually. On one, the program gives me the same error everytime I try to burn a cd

Failed to record data to the disc
    Error: SAO-2336-SPTI-2A-00-00000057 The parameter is
    incorrect.

The other computer, however, doesn't even get that far. The "Record To Disc" option is grayed out, and under the Burner section, it says "No CD Burner Found". Nero finds the drive with no problem, and about a month ago, Movie Factory wasn't having any problem finding it either.

    Any ideas about either problem?

  3. This is definitely something I would encourage you to do:

    1. Register your Ulead software

    2. Log In to the Ulead Web site

    3. Fill out the official tech support form.

The form will ask a lot of specific questions about your system and that will help Ulead isolate the problem.

    Good luck,

  4. Beat head into wall hard while waiting for response. Make sure if you get a chance call their lovely support (long distance mind you) and have a chat with them and you'll see how truly lost most are. IMHO Ulead has a long way to go when their "techs" tell me to use an outside encoder because this wonderful 45 dollar program can't handle it. I regret ever buying this piece of camel dung!

  5. I would try uninstalling and reinstalling the software.

Be sure to check for the latest patches:

Also make certain your RAM is not flaking out.

    I'd download Memtest 86:

...and run it from a floppy disc.

I had a similar error once and it turned out to be bad RAM.

  7. Works great here.

Here are some free tutorials that are quite helpful to novices:

  8. Then oh mighty Ulead god does their own so called "techs" tell me to use an outside encoder to set up my vcd and svcd's? IMHO that is a vote of no-confidence by their techs and I am quite pissed off that I can only get decent quality with using a slower (and better) encoder. If I was to know this ahead of time I NEVER would have wasted the time and money on it. Nero has a demo version that works great and is even less pixelated and more in synch. MF2 is a good BURNING program and nothing else and I am sure there are quite a few others who will agree with me.

  9. I recommend that fellow Ulead product owners use the Ulead MPEG.Now encoding engine.

I personally do *not* prefer to utilize 3rd party encoders.

Using the built-in encoder seems to result in far better results and fewer issues, in my experience.

  11. There is also a "CD/DVD Burning Patch" near the bottom of the Web page at the following link:

    http://www.ulead.com/tech/dmf/dmf_ftp.htm

This patch is updated routinely as newer drives come onto the market.
