  2. a question was asked about a week ago. it asked for a vote on what burning software people liked the most. if i had to guess 9 out of 10 said Nero. menu's are lacking but other software can handle that part of it if you don't like Nero's still menu's......

  3. Actually, in that post, half or less than half said Nero. Anyone who has been making S/VCDs for a while would realise that Nero leaves MUCH to be desired in terms of VCD authoring.

Nero's still menus are a poor poor effort. The implementation is poor, and they are even authored incorrectly (i.e., they don't play in some stand-alone players and most software players). For those interested in what it does incorrectly, create Nero VCD with still menus and then VCDXRIP it. Then post the XML file and I'll point out the mistakes...

Actually, this has already been done... It is hiding in a post somewhere but I've lost the URL.

For a simple VCD (e.g., single track or simple multitrack) Nero is good -- but no better than say WinOnCD.

For anything more complex, VideoPack4, VCD Toolkit and VCDImager are undoubtedly better choices.

But can any of these do XVCD's?
