  1. I have a Panasonic CX-DVP292U car dvd player I got a few weeks ago for my car. It plays VCD's. I have burned .mpg files on Nero successfully a few times, and only ONE song plays on each CD. It says "still" when I put the vcd in but it shows all the songs, their titles, and their picture, but it has an X on the top right and won't let me scroll and press play or anything. I figured out a way I could play the last song on the CD by holding the rewind button then releasing, then pressing it really fast again. It sounds weird but it plays one song and then when it is done it says "error, please eject disk" Is there something I am doing wrong in the buring process? What exacts do I need to check for each file to run? I can't figure it out. Very strange. Thanks for the help.

I'm confused to what you are trying to do. A VCD is a video CD but you say you car player plays only one song. Are you trying to make video CDs or Audio CDs? Please claify and provide some explanation about your project.

  6. When I say one "song" I mean't music video. I downloaded .mpg music videos and I burn them and it shows the picture of them all on my car tv when I put it on my dvd player and has them listed but it won't let me play them or anything. It says video CD when I put it in so it reads it as well, but it says " still" . Like I said, I found a weird way to play one video, which is the last song every time but when the music video is done playing, it says error.

Try running each .mpg file through TMPGnc using the standard VCD settings to ensure the .mpg are correct before burning.

When you say you're using Nero are you using the wizard to author a VCD or are you just burning the .mpg files on a CD as data? a VCD has a certain file structure that Nero will create for you.

I'm just using the wizard, clicking on the VCD section and dragging the mpg music videos in and burning them.....

Look to the left under tools. TMPGEnc is listed. Also follow the guides for converting to VCD(to the left under convert). Do not use the wizard from Nero, the videos will not look that good. Once you convert them with TMPGEnc you can use Nero to burn them.

You will be converting whatever format your original .mpg is into the standard VCD .mpg

    NTSC/NTSC Film
    Video:
    1150 kbit/sec MPEG-1
    352 x 240 pixels
    29,97 frames/second
    23,976 frames/second NTSC Film
    Audio:
    44100 Hz
    224 kbit/sec MPEG-1 Layer2

    or

    PAL
    Video:
    1150 kbit/sec MPEG-1
    352 x 288 pixels
    25 frames/second
    Audio:
    44100 Hz
    224 kbit/sec MPEG-1 Layer2

  15. How do I find out the properties of the file? Right click on properties? I mean, how do I check if it has PAL or NTSC properties?

With the TMPGEnc wizard you select if you want it PAL or NTSC for the conversion. To check the original file you can open it with Media player and check the properties under file or under view check statistics.

You haven't read any of the guides to the left yet have you?

  20. I just tried converting mpg to vcd and I read the convert to the right and it kept saying the file cannot be created every time I tried to finish it. What exactly am I converting it to VCD for?
