Hello
I am using MS Movie Maker to edit and complete footage from my home video camera. At first I was capturing in WMV format to edit and then saving the output as DV-AVI so that I could convert to MPEG2 using TMPEnc.
Can I quickly ask the question on time for this conversion to take place. It may be that what I experienced is about right. My PC spec is 2.8 P4 and 760Mb RAM.
When saving a 1hr25min WMV project to DV-AVI (approx20Gb) it took just short of two hours.
Yesterday I was advised to do the whole capture/edit/save as DV-AVI to ensure best quality. So I recaptured my footage and tried again (two files one 8Gb and one 9Gb). This time the final save of the project estimated almost 4 hours.
Can this be right, if it is that is not a problem as time is not really an issue, I just want to know that I am not doing something wrong at somepoint.
Also, with regards to Movie Maker, has anyone else experienced this, and have they found it to be better with any other software.
I am also finding that TMPGEnc usually take approx real time to convert to MPEG2, I assume that is normal.
Cheers
Andy
