I have owned a Philips for almost a year. I use NERO and have been burning at 8x for awhile. Well the other night, I think I may have ruined my CDRW drive. I tried to burn one of those XVCDs that are 776MEG cramed onto a 80min CDR. The buffer was going up and down like I have never seen before. Now when I try to burn at 8x it will eventually drop to 4x (and say due to media). I guess I need to get a new drive. I hate buying things that I didn't plan on buying (don't we all )

Phillips CD-RW drives are not known for their high quality.
