I've had my Nec 1300a writer for about 6 months and never had one problem with it. Then I upgraded my motherboard/cpu to an XP 2200 and I also upgraded my OS from 2000 to XP. For some reason I can't burn CDRs. I can still make backup DVDs fine but I can't burn CDs. I've tried everything you can think of to get it to work and have spent countless hours on it. I've downloaded IDE controllers, ASPI, ATAPI, and upgraded all burning programs. All my burning programs recognize my drive and when I hit the burn button, it freezes up my computer. I would surely appreciate any input on this matter. Thanks.

Open RegEdit
Find the following KEY
