Here's something from the daily fishwrap.....
Some of the report's most startling findings focus on children ages 3 and under. Almost a third of them have TV sets in their bedrooms; 40 percent live in homes where the TV is always on in the background; more than half are able to change channels with the remote control; and 30 percent load videos or DVDs by themselves.
My kids are pretty adept with the remote too. They've HAD to use a remote because they spilled juice on the TV and wiped out the front panel switches....

I have a boy who's two in Feb, and he points the remote at the tv but probably because he's seen me and his mum do it.
Maybe he just hates the childrens bbc channel we have on

Got kids? No way. In fac the best birth control is watching other people's kids. You won't catch me without a raincoat.
And my nephew is 3 with his own tv/dvd combo. I can't believe it. I was speechless when I saw it. I was probably 12 when I got my first tv.Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)

What's a three year old going to do w/ a tv/dvd combo?

I have a 2.5 year old. A while back we realized how much the TV was being used as a "babysitter" - we're now making an active attempt to minimize the amount the TV is on during daytime hours.
Generally, the TV is only on for the last hour prior to bed time (children's channel or DVD's). We use it as a calming measure to tone things down. Now if we can only find a way to limit the TV for the adults... -
Take your kids outside and play with them. My son was hitting a baseball when he was 1 year old. He was riding his bike without training wheels at 3 years old.
Keep your kids active, it's good for them as well as you. We don't need anymore couch potatos in this world.Got my retirement plans all set. Looks like I only have to work another 5 years after I die........ -
Wow. I never realized until now how nasty cat food looks.

Ever had to extract a CD-ROM from a 5-1/4" floppy drive? (And this was after countless hours of looking for the "missing" CD-ROM.)
At least everything still worked afterwards, unlike someone I know whose child "posted" some toast (with butter and jam, or maybe it was Vegemite) in the VCR. -
I got one kid. He's only 8 months old, but he already likes watching tv. My 4 year old nephew knew how to work a vcr from about 300.20000000032222333
