  1. Hi,
I use Nero to create a VCD from DAT file. The VCD plays ok
on the computer but cracks and pops a lot on the Pioneer DVD
player. I've player VCD on this player before without problem. Do I have to convert the DAT file to MPEG1 before burning to VCD?

  3. I reencoded the DAT with VCD template in TMPGEnc, it works fine on DVD player. I guess the
DAT was encoded with a different bitrate that 1150. Is there any tool can tell the bitrate of
    an encoded DAT or MPEG?

  5. hmmm. that shouldnt matter, my pioneer plays my SVCD's perfectly fine and their bitrates reach about 2600, and go as low as 600.

  6. Yeshi,
I guess you have a newer Pioneer model, mine is 414, it does not play SVCD or XVCD.
