  1. Thanks for all the ideas, my friends-but I was an unclear DORK! I have a DVD READER(lol) CDR/RW, wish I had a DVD burner(preaty, like candie)

Like I said before, the vcds burned on my HP worked great, but the samsung makes nothing but coasters....is it possible an OS problem? I upgraded to ME from 98 with the new machine
Sorry for wasting anybodies time, but the help is ALWAYS appreciated!!

  2. Well personally I think Windows ME is the biggest turd to ever come out of the MS foundry, Win 3.11 included. It can cause all sorts of problems, but that being said, did your new comp come with the drive (or did you build it yourself)? I build all of mine and I tried ME on it....and was back to 98SE in about 36 hours. You might try checking the bios and try turning off dma (also in system properties). If DMA is set on in the system properties and off in the bios then you probably just found the problem. Try turning DMA totally off then try it out. Since VCD's have less error correction it could be that the writer is writing more errors than can be coped with. And of course it could just be that the burner software just doesn't like your burner sad to say.
