I read the "HOW TO" section on this website regarding DVD Rips. And someone posted a message saying that it takes so many hours to convert the dvd-rip to vcd, svcd etc. So I am wondering if it is much easier to connect a DVD player to the input of a capture card such as ATI TV wonder and use PowerVCR II to capture the whole DVD movie in MPEG1 or MPEG-2 format and burn as VCD ?
(note: DVD player has no macrovision).

Yes it will work and be kinda easy...but the quality will not be as good software encoding.
