Hey, I read about the header trick and I really want to try it cuz the quality on my vcd's kinda sux. I was just wondering if it would work on a portable VCD player (not dvd). Basically it's a player that can't play mpeg2, only mpeg. Would the header trick work for this or do you think it would just be rejected by the player?

Its unlikley to work, the data rate of a SVCD mpeg would probably be too high for a VCD player.
Only way to know 100% for sure though is try it -
HAHA, no it does't work. It's a bunch of pink and green blocks. Whatever vcd is fine, but for some reason the vcd's flicker when I try to play them. Like when it's scrolling over a scene or when it switches from one veiw or another. Anyone know how I could keep this from happening? Would lowering the bitrate help?

Everything seems to be working fine now with regular vcd's. It was the FPS. The little vcd player can't convert 23.9 to 29 on the fly so it wasn't working with ntsc TV. w00t good thing i found that out. Now there's no need for header trick
