  1. Hi Guys,

    System
    ------
AMD 1.3, 20 Gig Hard Drive, 256 Megs, ATI All In Wonder

    Software
    --------
    MGI Videowave

The software is a problem because only MGI recognises the card, the others look for a driver, it can find the driver and it gives me vision but not sound.

    My problem
    ----------
Apart from a bad case of hemeroids I tried caputuring the England game yesterday from the TV and also I have been trying to capture from VHS Wacky Races. I start the capture and it does the job, says a 3.99 Gig file, but when I play the thing, it just loops at one place and the audio carries on.

So if you can imagine, Beckham has got a penalty, he`s placing the ball on the spot, he runs up, and thats all what you see but the audio carries on as per normal, and then about 5 mins later, you see something about 20 mins into the future.

Anyone have any ideas or help?

  2. Sounds like Macrovision to me! This ATI card really is a piece of shite as far as capturing video is concerned. I bought one a few months ago for £140 and it has been a complete waste of money! I am currently looking for a half-decent capture card that won't totally f**k up TV or VHS captures the way the ATI one does!

  3. I`ve got it running through a Video Copy Box which is supposed to remove the Macrovision.

  5. Video Arcade,
I had the same problem as you... and I desperately wanted to record the match on Saturday. I knew Greece would do well against England (happens to be Greek , but finally I couldn't record the whole game because of the loop problem you described. I was well pissed off...

Mind you I have the Radeon VIVO card. So after a little search I figured that the ATI cards have this Macrovision problem. All I did was to install the beta drivers for win2000 and the looping problem went away.

I am not sure whether there is a beta driver for your AIW you can use. In that case, try checking out these two threads over at the Rage3D forums for answers to your looping problems:

The Rage3D All-In-Wonder/VIVO forum is a great place to go for any Radeon video questions:

Apparently this gets rid of macrovision check it out.
