In this board I hear a lot about the goodies of DVDLab and sometimes TMPG Author. I've been using DVD workshop 1.3 for over a year with good results, and some find that no one talks about it anymore.

Of course Ulead DVDWSP costed me big bucks and both DVDLab and TMPG Author are below $100. Usually price tells about capabilities and quality. Am I missing something?

BTW anyone know if there a DVDWSP 2 in the horizon?
    Regards

  2. Why don't you download the trial version of DVD-Lab. It's fully functional for 30 days. Once you use it for a couple of projects, you'll see what all the fuss is about.

Ulead DVD Workshop 2 apparently is on the horizon, according to the news item on the Ulead Web site...

thanks guys. I'm going to download the trial versiion of DVDLab and see what happens with DVDW 2.0 when it arrives. Quality x price are the drivers I measure performance x value.

  5. Does DVDLab support VCD/SVCD authoring?

  6. Tmpgenc DVD author also is a free 30 day fully working trial.

Only thing I am currently using, but I plan to try new stuff too.

Software as with Hardware, when you have the market cornered on a new product or little compition you can charge higher prices. But after the new wears off prices drop. Or others enter the market.

I think Tmpgenc is new this year, and I have seen several nice improvements made to it already.

Like DVD Burners, 2x was higher in march when I bought mine. Now I can get a dual 4X for less.
Computer stuff seems to be the only market where things keep getting better and prices keep going down!
