It totally depends on the size of the file your burning. Remeber that image files are always going to be bigger than what ends up being burnt on the disk. I've had 900MB bin files fit on 74min cdrs. Just load that bin and cue in CDRwin. If this is a vcd or svcd then it will tell you the "time" that the disk will take up. This is not the running time of the movie rather it tells you the size media you will need. If the time is larger than 74 mins you need to use an 80 min cdr. You can always just load a bin and insert a 74 min cdr and if it wont fit then the program will tell you. Keep trying larger media until your burning program stops complaining.

Also dont forget that if your burner, software program, and media support it you can overburn. Usually you can burn no more than 4 secs worth of extra data onto any size media.

  3. As what adam stated.

When you load your CUE/BIN image to be burnt with CDR-Win, it will tell you the true size (in terms of minec:frame) of the disc. Anything less than 74:00:00 should fit on a 74min disc. Anything less than 80:00:00 should fit on an 80 min disc.

Remember, there are individual variations in batches of media -- both in terms of total capacity and the degree by which you can overburn.

adam, a 900MB bin cannot be burnt onto a 74min CD-R if it was really 900MB in size... Windows has been known to incorrectly report file sizes... but I'm sure you knew this.

No the bin was actually 900MB's, I know because I downloaded every byte of it. The actual size of the collective files on the disk obviously were less than 650MB's but for some reason the bin was huge. Like I said disk images often contain extra info that doesnt actually get burnt to the disk. It was a psx game and I've noticed that these bins are usually much larger than regular disks.

  5. Hmmm...

That's interesting. I wonder why it's like that.

  6. What about w/Nero 5.5.4.0 can you burn a 78min. clip on a 80min. CDR I seen on another site that you could, but I have not been able to. In fact the other day I had a 70min. clip wanted it on a CDR went to burn Nero said not enough space on disc. It was a total of 700 something MB. Nero told me it needed room for 806MB. This CDR was a 700MB/80MIn.

  7. Was the clip an mpeg file. Other formats, like avi will not fit in the same way.

  8. you need to make it standard compliant, this way you can burn up to 800MB on an 80 min (I use VCD Imager GUI)
