Of course. Would I lie ?
That's what THEY say.
I've put sandbags around my computer to protect myself.
I never steal anything, but I have the occasional evil thought
which they may detect. -
...Windows can be remotely destroyed by the MPAA....
Micro$oft is already doing it for them.

Oh man!
I just finished dowloading SP 4 and the MBlast Patch for MS Win2K.
Just when I thought I waz safe!!!Yeah right!!!
Is Windows security ever gonna stop being compromised??
BILL CAN YA HEAR US?
PS: Ok seriously now, apart from MS's own stupid holes on its O/S's i don't think there is much the MPAA can do to remotely destroy Win or hardware of pirates or even ppl that are backing up the DVDs they own. I bet they wish they could,....The Truth Is Out There - X Files -
Yes yes M$ puts out crappy OS but whatcha going to do (I'm running winXP and my old laptop has winME).
As for the MPAA they can not do this nor are they likely too. There are companies that are putting out 'fake' mp3s with message like 'hey don't steal' or the like. There's some debate as to if it's legal to release a virus/trojan on kazaa to try to 'take out' priates. I have no idea if anyone is seriously thinking about doing that, it's an internet rumor, but it does actually make sense. More sense then trying to sue users -

Yeah- then we can start suing them when they take out the wrong computer. -
This is highly unlikely. Its against the constitution and if someone brings this up to court the MPAA can get into a load of ****. Its like saying the police is going to blow up your van because there is a stolen tv in it.

Well here's one for thought, a friend with a wireless network was just telling me he found MP3's and some other files on his system he did not download! He lives alone!
Now was this a poltergeist or maybe a burgular wanting to hear some music while searching for valueables?
Actually since he is not much of a saftey nut, more of a let it happen if it's going to type nut, he had no firewall and no wireless security running. So we figure someone broke into his system on the wireless net work (not hard) and then ran downloads to his system. Maybe a script kiddy with some batch files, then probably came back later to get them!
That is our theory! He also said he found some mp3's then later they were gone! We suspect after the kiddy downloaded the files, then copied them to his system he then tried to delete the files before they were found. Maybe so he could get more?
Ms is so full of holes they should be a SWISS company making Cheese! At least the would have an excuse for the HOLES they leave! Another report of security bugs and they are urging users to download the NEW patches! Can we say BETA TESTERS anyone! We all need to sue them for back pay! I have been BETA TESTING MS WINDOWS since 2.0 and they still have not given me (or anyone else) one that actually works!! I want paid for the last 10Yrs! -
If a student gets prosecuted for showing a teacher a potential security hole in the school Intranet, releasing a virus and destroying peoples software would be adequate to send them to the chair... If there's a proper legal system that is....
