  1. hi,
i used this guide http://www.how-to-convert.com/ask_us/a7042003.htm and after it finishes the file that's created is too long to be fitted on an 80 minute disk, I also tried to lower the bitrate in the audio but that didn't help, the leangth is still no good, it's like NERO is trying to burn it like a regular file and not a SVCD file... (and yes i am using the S-Video Burning method...)

i hope you understood me, sorry for spelling mistakes but i ama little tired now (5:53 AM)

    thanks,

    Eran.

  2. ok, i know tried the other guide using I-Author (after days of searching for I-Author ) and it worked and i burned it with NERO but again when i used WinSubMux it wont work, NERO just says that the file is too big...

    anyone knows why?

    thanks,

    eran.

80min CDR can only hold about 40min SVCD movie (around 800MB). check your SVCD file size if its over 800MB then you need to split it.

The easiest method of backing up your DVD to SVCD will be using DVDx2.2 (set your own split movie file sizes to suit your CDRs) and then use VCDEasy to burn (both are free softwares). DVDx2.2 cannot handle movies with DTS audios then you need DVDshrink2.3 before using DVDx2.2

How big in MB is the svcd mpeg file?? You should be able to fit about 795 MB on a 80 min CD. If not you must split the SVCD mpg on to two cds.

And switchable subs is svcd authoring so I'm moving this one to the svcd author forum.

  5. I guess you misunderstood me, i will explain more...
I already have an SVCD(MPEG2) it does fit on a cd (700MB) because i burned it without subtitles just fine.
my problem is when i try to add subtitles with WinSubMux (link to the guide i used is in the first replay) when i add subtitles nero says that the file is too big, i also tried to lower the bitrate of the audio (demultiplexing and multiplexing) and that didn't helped, i lowered the audio as far as 128kbit, if i remember correctly the file size was about 790 MB even less and still nero said that it was too big, he showed that the length(minutes) are more then allowed, the thing is that when i used I-Author to burn with subtitles all went well, then the same file with the same subtitles i tried in WinSubMux and again nero gives the same error...
i searched the forum but i found nothing even close to my problem.
    i hope now u understand,
    thank you very much,

    Eran.
