    The credit card proceedure is for everyone's protection, surely you appreciate it's to try stop seller's being anonymous and then ripping people off.
    Why would you want to circumvent the system?

    I've never had a single problem with my credit information being on the site. It's for the protection of the sellers and the buyers alike. Plus if it is the rules of ebay, then why try to work around it??

    Wasn't aware of eBay requiring a credit card in order for users to bid. I thought the only place you required a credit card to enter was the Mature / Porno section?

    No not anymore. If you try and make an account with any popular email clients like hotmail, yahoo, etc it ask you for a cradit card number to verify your identity. I dont have a credit card but I am 18. I don't want to sell anything either. I just want to buy something off there.

    Isn't their an option to use your ISP email address (i.e. the one you would normally get with your internet account) instead of entering credit card details.

    I know their is that option on eBay Australia anyway.

    To tell you the truth I have never really used it. Infact I dont even know what it is. I just use hotmail and such becuase it's easier for my friends to remember.

    Anyway if anyone knows any free email services that I can register on Ebay with please let me know.

    Yes its true you can use your proper email address (your isps), i also dont like the fact you have to give out credit card details just to sign up so i used my email addy.

    You should contact your isp AND1, they will be able to tell you your email addy.

    You can also use a checking or savings account to verify your identity. It just takes a couple of extra days.
