  1. I have converted a file avi. and turned it into a MPEG file.

    The Question:
Now is that the right format for a VCD? Also, after i did all my formating I noticed that my new file was about 1.04gb in space. My old one (that wasnt in VCD format was only 198MG. Why is it so much bigger now? Os there away to get it smaller, beacause if i can't then that means i will take 2 cd's to just play half of a movie i want. Is that what is suppose to be like when using CD-R file's? Or did i convert the movie wrong? Please get back to me soon. Thank's.

It may or may not be the right format for VCD.

Is the MPG 352x240 (or 288 PAL) with a CBR of 1150 and audio at 224kbps at 44.1khz? The framerate must be either 24fps or 29.97 NTSC and 25fps PAL. If yes, then it is the correct format, if not, then no... it isn't.

I'm assuming the AVI was a divx. The VCD compliant MPEG files with the CBR at 1150 will take up about 10 megs of hard drive space per minute of the movie. A 650mb cd (or 74min) will hold a 740mb MPEG when burned as VCD. You will most likely have to split the movie across 2 CDs.

All the info you need is in the guides on the left hand side of the page.
