  1. Ok, say i download an mpeg file, does that mean i dont have to convert it using tmpgenc? and if i download an avi file, that means i DO need to do that? Also would anyone recommend avi over an already converted Mpeg file?

  2. 1) Depends on the format of the MPEG. Genreally speaking, yes, can just burn it. You'll have to check the framerate and resolution to be safe.

    2) Again depends. A LOT of d/loaded DivX and MPEGs are really poorly encoded. I mean odd resolutions, strange framerates, crappy filters, etc. etc. So I prefer to encode most stuff myself (then I rip more than I d/load).
