  1. Hi,

I have a problem! When I wanted to burn I file I have downloaded Nero said that the file is not a valid VIDEOCD file and that Nero will re-convert it so it will be a valid VIDEOCD file but after the converting and after the burning the file will chop every second! It's not see-able if you're not good at seeing those things but I think it's annoying! The audio is moving right but the video keep chop a little every second.. Please help me! How to fix this problem? THANX a Million!!
    Thanx

  2. what format is the original file...is it a standard, compliant VCD?? maybe SVCD??

also, in nero....when using either the VCD template or SVCD template....you can uncheck the box next to "make standard, compliant". this should prevent nero from trying to re-encode your .mpg.

  3. burn it once by turning off standard compliance.

its probably just at a weird resolution.
    poop.

  4. Here are the information:

    Resolution: 352x240 NTSC @ 29.97 fps
    Video Bitrate: 1150 kbits
    Audio: MPEG Layer-2 / 44100Hz
    Audio Bitrate: 224 kbits

And I'm using Nero Express. Where to find that option then??
    Thanx

  5. your movie is encoded for svcd.

open nero, and click SVCD, and burn it like that. as long as your dvd player supports SVCD, it should work fine. to convert to svcd with nero, though, you have to have the svcd plugin, which costs money. i'm pretty sure that if you dont have it, but your file is already encoded, it'll burn it like it should be.
    poop.

  6. @ching0,

the info is clearly for VCD, NOT SVCD.

SVCD NTSC resolution is 480x480, while the above is for VCD NTSC resolution. also, standard VCD requires the bitrate to be 1150 kbit/s, as stated above.

everything seems to be standard VCD spec...dunno why nero's having any problem with it.

    @maggan81

in nero express, on the last page "final burning settings"

    1) write method should be "track-at-once" NOT "disc-at-once"

    2) if the above doesn't work, try unchecking "Create for US TV standard"

  7. Let's see... could it be because he selected MPEG-2 instead of the standard MPEG-1?

    well...

    1) he did say he downloaded the file...so he doesn't really have a choice in mpeg1 or mpeg2..

however, the specs he mentioned matched VCD

    2) are you saying he chose the SVCD template in nero, instead of the VCD template???

    well, here's what he said....

if he did load the VCD file into nero's SVCD template by accident, then nero's error msg would be "not a valid (SUPER)VIDEOCD FILE"

Yo ignoramus, that was audio. That is standard VCD audio. He didn't state whether or not he use MPEG1/2 for video encoding.
