what could cause this and is there a way to convert from bin to just vcd even if they are converted to scvd? And what is a good avi to mpg converter I have tried tmpgenc I always get errors any help would be greatly appreciated

  3. 1) so, you sure that the CD-Rs you burned are true SVCDs?

    if they are SVCDs

    2) can you play those on your computer with winDVD/powerDVD?

    3) can you play those on a friend's DVD player?

    4) what DVD player do you have? you may wanna look here for more info on your DVD player (i.e. which video formats and media your player will support) https://www.videohelp.com/dvdplayers

if your player does NOT support SVCDs, there are couple of things you can do.

first, i would try the VCD header trick...

if that doesn't work, then i would need to convert that to xVCD (again, only if your DVD player supports xVCD).

otherwise, if you convert to VCD, you will be losing a lot of quality as standard, compliant VCD is fixed to a really, really low bitrate. you will not like the video quality very much.
