  1. I got a few mpg files and I belive they are svcd files. Somehow when I try to open them with any programs, it won't play at all. They were downloaded and should be complete files but they won't play. Is there away I can fix this by some mean of cutting, or whatever tools I can use to make them play even if I have to cut a little off. I tried the simple mulitplex in tmpgenc but when I open the file I get the "illegal mpeg video stream" error. Please help.

First try using these throught the program VCDxmInfo (a tool of the bundle VCDimager).
VCDxmInfo analizes the stream and tells you if it is a valid mpeg or not. If it is valid, it will also tell you which type it is (mpeg-1/-2).
