  1. I've searched these forumes and nobody has quite my problem, or at least I couldn't find it if they did.

Everytime I try to capture video I can only capture so much (less than 1 minute, about 43 seconds) and then my capture freezes (but my Sony Digital 8 camcorder keeps playing). If I then restart the capture the camcorder plays back, but nothing gets captured and the capture preview screen is blank. If I reboot it starts over: 43 seconds, freeze, nothing captured. I've tried using Adobe Premier 6, Windows Movie Maker 2, and Windows Media 9. I'm running XP Pro SP1 with an All-inWonder 8500DV and a Sony TRV120 Digit 8 (DV) camera using the DV connection. I've got plenty of disk space (over 130GB available) and 1GB of memory. I'm leaning towards the issue being the Vfwwdm32.dll, but ain't sure. Any ideas? Sony and ATI have been no help.

  2. Did you use the newest drivers or the drivers that came with ATi?

  4. Thats your problem. Uninstall your lastest drivers, and install the drivers that came with the card. You problems should disappear.

  5. Great, I either have drivers that fix bugs in lots and lots of other apps, or drivers that let me capture from my Sony. Any idea why this is? No work-around? ___Bibbit

  6. I don't understand what you mean. Have you tried the old drivers? I use the old drivers and I've got no issues.

  7. I've had this puppy for over a year. The list of fixes in these drivers since then is huge, and I personally have experienced many, such as Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2 bugs. So, I either don't run some games again, or I don't capture.

What version do you run? Are they Catalyst drivers? ___Bibbit

  8. Yea i think they are catalyst. I use MMC 7.5 and whatever drivers that were included in the cd. I updated it and i had a hoard of issues. Everything capturing program i tried would crash after a couple min.

Here is a discussion on the same topic. I also had the 42k problem, and with the newest set all is well so far. I have recorded 6 hours of shows with no problems.

  10. My issue is with 300+ MB, NOT 42K. Still, tomorrow I'm going to clean install WinXP Pro and the ATI 3.4 Catalyst drivers to see if all goes well and the world might not smile upon me. I'll report back. ___Bibbit
