  2. Download TMPG for this as it's the easiest. When you go to encode the video, there will be a Source Range selection in the options before encoding. Double click that and you will be able to set a start and end point. Start the next encoding where your last one left off.

  6. I OPEN TMPGenc click on pal but used ntsc (before and it not work either) obviously find file to split this case a film on videotype use non-interlace on ratio used a few to try not sure which one is best but was adised 1.1 VGA. then click on source range and set start frame and end frame where i want film to be split ie about 650 megbytes (my disc are 700) then click next then click to use CD-R 74 mins (VCD-SVCD) have used CD-R 700mb (ISO then tick the start the encoding on the next page then click start on page after. Have done this a few times but still got the message i previously put. I downloaded TMPGenc as it said so got it all so to speak but am still stuck so if anyone can help be greatfully aappricated. thank you

  9. You encoded a AVI into a MPEG1. Good so far.
    you a have 850Meg file.
Note that you 700Meg CD will hold a 790Meg video in VCD format.
This is why people are telling you to re-encode a little smaller.

What you asked was how to split the MPEG file.
Goto the guides section and look under editing (cutting) MPEG1 files.
All the help you will need !!!
If it was MPEG2 I recommend MPEG2CUT (freeware)

I recommend VCDeasy to make your MPEG file into a (S)VCD disk.
