I think there is a filter you can use in Vurtual Dub called Logo Filter.vdr
Keep going till you get it right!!! -
go to virtualdub.org and click on the filters link on the left, follow the link at the top of the page and it will take you to a site dedicated to hosting filters. an easier way would to just crop the video, virtualdub does not come with a cropping tool, at least not that i know of, but you can download one at the same place where you find the de logo tool.

since it is a smpte time code burn in - its prob. a work print and its not really a logo -- i.e. the clock keeps ticking .. you would have to just mask it out or crop it as was suggested ..
may look better to keep it in -- anyway work prints are not finest quality anyway so what does it mater if there is a time code burn in .. -
I thought most work prints had the timecode in the center of the bottom of the screen, not a lower corner...
I was thinking that this might be a home-video that had been d/l'd, and the vid had the clock set to visible (a mistake I made in recording some concert footage - doh!)

virtual dub does have a cropping filter built in its called the null transform. it does nothing to the film except allow you to crop it.
