  1. I'm authoring an avi. After adding chapters I get the Setup Menu screen. It shows that the Currently Display Menu is 'Main Menu' with just the default chapter. I have to select the pulldown menu next to 'Currently Display Menu' to get the track name that shows the chapters I added. But when I go to the Preview screen it only shows the Main Menu with one chapter.

Why are there two menus and why can't I preview the one I want?

In MovieFactory the main menu contains thumbnails for each of the movies that have been added to the project, in your case there is only one. This is the high-level menu, for each of the movies a seperate chapter menu is created. When you run (or preview) the movie the main menu comes up first, if you click on the thumbnail it will then bring up the chapter menu for that movie, however if you click on the 'play' button it just launches the movie playback. This approach becomes more logical if you have more than one movie in the project.

I don't think you can change this in MF, you would need to use DVD Workshop to get more control over setting up menus.

  3. Thanks, now I get it. With only one track it is rather goofy.

I think the other problem I'm having is that the Preview doesn't work.

    I'll check out DVD Workshop.
