I read somewhere, that when You set up in TMPGenc (to convert an avi file to mpg(svcd)), that You should "unlock" - under extra - before starting the conversion.
If I do that, the buttons on front are available. I take it that I should then select like "System (video/audio)".
But then - according to the instruction - I should also load the correct value, like "SuperVideo CD (Pal).mcf". But when I do that, the fore mentioned streaming options on the front greys out again. So the "unlock" is no more effective, as far as I can see.
What is the correct way of handling this?
    Thanks

  2. Do it the other way round! Load the unlock.mcf AFTER loading the required template for (S)VCD.

Okay - whats it for anyway? Is it just a matter of how You watch the video on Your screen while working on it - and therefore has nothing to do and no influence on the result of the conversion?
    Thanks -

When you use the SuperVCD template, as you say most settings are locked. By then loading the unlock template, you unlock all locked settings, allowing you to modify bitrates, resolutions... Everything. This may cause the mpeg to be not suitable for SVCD, but as said, allows you to do tweaks, hopefully within the specs, and, most important, within what your player can handle!´
