I'm living in a pal country and i have a dvdplayer that's outputs pal and ntsc. My tv is multistandard..so i have no problems with pal or ntsc. Because i support both pal and ntsc i have no need for any converting from pal to ntsc or ntsc to pal.
The only pal to ntsc converting done so far is only for supporting ntsc if it's needed. I have captured a short commersial for beer from a swedish tv-channel called tv4 and encoded it to vcd ntscfilm(23.976) and
vcd ntsc(29.97).
The ntscfilm sample is converted using virtualdub and tmpgenc, the ntsc sample is converted using virtualdub, tmpgenc and avisynth.
I hope somebody is interested to download and view my samples on a ntsc tv to see if it looks ok.
The samples can be downloaded here: Server is offline.
vcd4ever.
