  1. no matter which xvid verions i install i cant get my xvid movies to play properly. with some of the codecs i get the green spots thing and with others the picture looks like it has a brown mesh layed over it.
    anyway, if i change the fourcc to DIVX they all play fine in media player 6.4 through divx 5.03.

    most of my films are already on cd and therefore read only.
    my question is, can I change something in my system (like a registry key) to play all xvid movies with divx5 automatically without me having to copy them to hard disk and change the fourcc each time.

  2. Hi Maggieh,

    Don't know any... but suggest you remove all the divx/xvid codecs, then install fddshow, reboot again.... should solve all youre divx/xvid problems.

  3. thanks. it seems i had an alpha version of ffdshow which gave me trouble.
    ffdshow-20020617.exe appears to work though
